I can’t agree more with that. In fact, it is exactly what Zitgist is doing: binding data with UI templates. This is already done, but you will be able to see it in action in a month or two, just remind me to give you an early user account.

I just scanned you article, but I will read it in deep later today, however it seems a great reading. It is definitely what will emerge in RDF browsers I think.

I think that structured information always needs user interface views that
are designed for some application specific tasks. If you are searching for
people with certain interests you use different kind of views than when you
are browsing software projects. These views have of course much in common,
but still they need to be tuned for the specific task to be useable. I just
wrote an article about my experiments on such view definitions:

Nothing that haven’t been discussed. I know some people that are supposed to get accounts, but I don’t know anybody that tested it so far.

As long as I know it seems a sort of Google Base, with social editing a la Wiki, probably with some API to get some data. I remember reading somewhere from its creator (if I am not wrong) that there is nothing about the semantic web so far, but that they will possibly start to take a look at the possibility… dunno nothing else.

I think the difference between freebase and the “environment” I described here is that people will be able to edit and add descriptions from anywhere on the Web… yeah.. it is the semantic web after all

Have you seen any details other than press releases of comments by people who have seen an early demo? I may have been out sick on the day it was discussed in class.
