There is the first draft of my Blogging Card:
I will start using this card when I will go to India in 2 months. I will not have any permanent address or phone numbers. The only permanent thing I know that I will have is this domain name. This card will be good for years, as long as I pay 9$ per years to keep the domain name.
Why using that card? Nowadays, what is important is the development of our social and relation network. This card is a way to aggregate new nodes to my network. People to whom I will leave that “blogging card” will be able to know where I am, what I am working on and will be able to contact me anytime, independent of where I am in the world. These little informative cards can be seen as paper link to this website. I think that website can become the core node of my professional, social and relation network.
Why do I use the name “Blogging Cards”? For what “blogging” signify to me. This is not just a Business card, it is much more. If I give it to someone, it is because I hope to keep a contact with him, not only a business contact, but a social and professional one. It is why I call it a “Blogging Card”, because blogging is a social activity, an activity of socialization, of knowledge sharing and ideas exploration. If I give that card to someone, it is because I wish to redirect him into that place, to discuss and share that knowledge and these ideas.

I love this idea. Sadly I purchased 2,000 business cards before I launched my blog, so I’m going to have to find a way to use (get rid of?) those. I do think that having your blog address on a card is an excellent way to invite people to your site, and far more interesting to hand somebody a card and say, “On here you’ll find my blog address, where I discuss blah blah blah and invite you to participate in the discussion” than just your standard “here’s my business card” type thing.
I’m inspired though, maybe I should design a separate card with my blog URL and even a brief description of the blog, hand people two cards! lol (overkill?) Hmmmm. π

Hello Taughnee,
Overkill? It is a way to see things π
However, is your domain name on the current business card? If so, then I do not think that it is necessary to reprint a whole batch of cards. I think that when they will go to endeavorcreative.com, they will see that you also have a beautiful blog where they will be able to converse openly with you π
Take care,
Salutations,
Fred

I created my own cards a couple of weeks ago because I knew that I would be meeting a couple of bloggers that week. I think it’s a great way of promoting yourself – despite the love of ‘online’ I think people still like the humble business card; it’s tangible, it hangs around; you can write a personal note on it for someone… it lasts longer than an email. Great way to go.

Hello Mr. Marrett,
Tell me what people that you give it to them think about it π
It is also what I thought: people like and will always like to have little things like this in their hands: Cyber-world or not. It is the same reason why paper books will always exist on that planet π

Fred,
Nice, simple design!
I started using blog business cards a year ago and they have been very successful. As I have become a professional blogger/author/publisher, I have branched out into other cards, but they all retain the idea of identifying me by my web addresses, not my physical address.
I produce them myself using the inkjet cards available at business supply stores, because I change card designs as the need arises. If you click on my name it will show you an early design that was very well received.

Hello Mr. St Lawrence,
The version 2.0 of that card is on the way. I will put it here when it will be finished.
I do not have any doubts that it works; people like have material things, it is just normal. When they will get the card out of their wallet, they will have a flash: A yes, that guy, I will take a minute to know what he wrote about. It is probably one of the best ways to make contacts.
Thank,
Salutations,
Fred

Business Cardsβ¦.the price points now allow people to have cards for different audiences, messages and themes. Some with cell phone, some with out, some that emphasize certain services,β¦the key is to target your message/card to a particular audience. A business card is marketing and targeting your message is effective marketing.
